A dental crown is a custom-made covering that fits over a tooth to restore its shape, size and strength. Dental crown procedures are commonly used to protect weakened teeth, repair fractures, restore heavily filled teeth or improve the appearance of discoloured or misshapen teeth. Crowns can also be fitted to a dental implant for a complete tooth replacement solution.
Ceramic/porcelain dental crowns offer excellent aesthetics and blend seamlessly with natural teeth. EMAX crowns are a type of all-ceramic restoration that are particularly known for their durability and lifelike translucency, making them ideal for the more visible areas of the mouth. We also offer inlays and onlays (partial crowns) for more conservative restorations.
Bonded crowns use a metal base to provide greater support, covered by a layer of porcelain fused on top. They are generally stronger than all-ceramic crowns, although they aren’t quite as naturally realistic in appearance.
As well as the above, long-term options, we are able to provide temporary crowns for effective support and protection over shorter periods while permanent restorations are being created.
